If you’re craving a quick mountain escape from the hustle of Delhi, Manali makes for the perfect weekend retreat. We took a 2-day short trip from Delhi’s Kashmere Gate to Manali, and despite the rain, it turned out to be an unforgettable experience!
Day 1: Arriving in Rain-Soaked Manali
We boarded an overnight private bus from Kashmere Gate, Delhi, and reached Manali around 12 PM the next day. The weather welcomed us with light rain, adding that cozy charm to the mountains that everyone dreams of.
We stayed at Hadimba Road, Manali. The hotel was comfortable, close to local attractions, and had a peaceful vibe with an Amazing view – just what we needed after a long journey.

After checking in and freshening up, we headed out to explore Manali Mall Road. The rain couldn’t stop us! We strolled through the bustling lanes, sipped hot tea, and grabbed some local snacks. There’s something magical about walking in the hills with mist around you and mountains peeking through the clouds.
Day 2: Atal Tunnel, Sissu & More – An Epic Drive
For our second day, we hired a cab for a full-day trip to Solang Valley, Atal Tunnel, Koksar, and Sissu.
Solang Valley
Solang Valley was our first stop. Though it wasn’t snow season, the lush green meadows and cool breeze made it worth the visit.

Atal Tunnel
Driving through the Atal Tunnel was surreal. It’s one of the highest and longest road tunnels in the world!

Koksar
We then reached Koksar, where we were pleasantly surprised to find patches of snow still lying around — a delightful treat in late season! The cool air, white snow, and mountain views made us pause and take it all in.

Sissu
After soaking in the beauty of Koksar, we headed to Sissu, where the views were simply breathtaking. Waterfalls, clouds touching the hills, and serene landscapes made it feel like a dream.

It was a full day of scenic beauty and peaceful moments.
Heading Back to Delhi
After returning from the Sissu trip, we had a quick dinner and boarded a private evening bus back to Delhi. Though short, our 2-day trip to Manali gave us a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure.
